Differentiation with Technology
Differentiation with technology
Technology Integration
The
use of technology in this unit is the basis for students' effective learning.
In secondary education, it is essential to capture the attention of each
student to enter their brains and ensure that they retain the information of
the lesson. Technology is the means to achieve this since, at this age,
students love to use computers, cell phones, social networks, etc. As teachers,
we must give ourselves the task of looking for activities, games, applications,
and platforms that are interesting for students and promote learning through
this medium. The use of mathematical games on the computer is a technique that
works very well at this level of education.
Engagement and appropriateness
To
engage each of the students, their attention must be drawn to engaging
activities. Giving them a variety of activities works very well at the
secondary level. The teacher must be given the task of finding and selecting
appropriate activities for the lesson that promote learning and retention of
important information. Using math games, reasoning questions, videos, and
posters are several ways that students can learn the information in the lesson.
Global awareness and Cultural
Perspectives
It
is vital to encourage global awareness and different cultural perspectives,
even in math classes.
As
a bilingual teacher, it is essential to create a comfortable and harmonious
environment for the students; this will promote learning, the retention of
information, and bonds of trust between the students and the teacher.
By
knowing the students' background, opening communication links, and creating
respectful discussions on any topic, the teacher can better help and meet the
needs of each student.
