Differentiation with Technology

Differentiation with technology   Technology Integration   The use of technology in this unit is the basis for students' effective learning. In secondary education, it is essential to capture the attention of each student to enter their brains and ensure that they retain the information of the lesson. Technology is the means to achieve this since, at this age, students love to use computers, cell phones, social networks, etc. As teachers, we must give ourselves the task of looking for activities, games, applications, and platforms that are interesting for students and promote learning through this medium. The use of mathematical games on the computer is a technique that works very well at this level of education.   Engagement and appropriateness   To engage each of the students, their attention must be drawn to engaging activities. Giving them a variety of activities works very well at the secondary level. The teacher must be given the task of ...

Designing a Differentiated Lesson Plan

Designing a Differentiated Lesson Plan   According to the needs observed in this period, the strategies used in this lesson cover the needs of different learning styles. On previous days, different evaluations were applied, such as the learning style inventory, which demonstrated three different learning styles, visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. The assessments of the learning level of the students of this period showed the students who were at the low level, the intermediate level, and the students who were at the level. All the data collected was taken into account to plan this lesson. The students' interests were observed and evaluated by asking random questions to students for several days. During this time, the students explained that mathematics was very dull and that they did not generate anything of interest. The students expressed that playing on computers and practicing on the smart board made the class fun and enjoyable.   Assessments in this lesson ...

Learning Styles Analysis  The graph above shows the data for five students in an eighth-grade math class. Interconnection of Learning styles and Development Cognitively speaking, we can say that not all students learn in the same way. When the student receives the information in his specific learning style, it is easier for him to understand and retain the information. Visual learners will learn effectively from pictures or videos, auditory learners will learn effectively from discussion or reading aloud, and kinesthetic learners will learn effectively by practicing or experiencing concepts. Visual learners use any visual stimulus to connect the information they hear to be processed and understood by their brain. Auditory students tend to make better use of their words and have good interaction with their classmates since they seem better at speaking and listening to the ideas of others; these students tend to have excellent ideas and dialogues, they tend to be very empathet...
Assessing Technology-Based Resources for Differentiation   Three current technologies that can be used to appropriately support differentiated instruction and enrich student learning styles at the Middle School level are: Chromebook is an essential tool in these times, especially for students who like technology. With this tool, we can access all the information we need on the internet. This tool is not expensive for students since the school provides them for use at school. The educational websites that are used in schools are also beneficial. On these websites, it is easy can find enough information on the relevant topics in the class, interactive activities, videos in English and Spanish, and multiple tools for teachers to create adequate evaluations and extra activities. The websites are open to all students and accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week for use. Blogs are a perfect option for interacting at a distance. No matter the subject, this technological tool is of ...
